    Sorry, it’s when the rules are broken or ignored that art attains the level of greatness known as “originality.” You may be creative following them there rules, but that will only appeal to those for whom art is interior design.

    Yes, sometimes you have to break the paradigm to achieve originality, but breaking the rules for the sake of breaking them does not make art.

    Besides, if you do manage to be original, it lasts for a few months at most, and then you find that all you’ve done is to create a new set of rules!

    This is really the crux of the situation for contemporary photographers. How does one create a style that will keep clients coming in spite of the plethora of “photographers” now flooding the market? We must answer this riddle or see or businesses die. Great cartoon!
