Wait till Bucky finds out that the police in England are called “Scotland Yard”. It’ll blow his tiny little mind.

Or someone could tell him that instead of the Post Office delivering the “mail” like in the US, in England the Royal Mail delivers the “post”.

Actually daDoctah Scotland Yard are only the head of the Met Police in London. If only England was as Bucky sees it.

Now tell Bucky that in England, a car’s hood is a bonnet, the trunk is a boot, the fender is a wing, and the roof is a hood. That should scramble his marbles. And yes, I watch WAY too much Wheeler Dealers.

Hey Rob, you had no holiday for so long. Go, take Bucky to the UK! And buy Satchel fish & chips with vinegar.

Does anyone here remember the TV show “Keen Eddie”. Another one that Fox killed too soon. Eddie’s crazy dog, Pete, is put in quarantine. Eddie is overjoyed since he has a love-hate relationship with the dog. Unfortunately for Eddie the English detective that he is paired with is an animal lover & pulls some strings to get Pete sprung. I still laugh when I think of Sienna Miller’s character’s cat & Pete together.

I remember hitch-hiking through the UK & to get hot water for your bath in a hostel you had to put coins in like pay-phone. More money, more hot water.

@Ferret-Fever … Not quite relevant to today’s discussion, but some early electric meters in the US were coin-operated. You would purchase only the amount of electricity you could afford – what a novel concept, only using what you can afford ….

And of course you have to go up stairs – possibly on a lift to get to the first floor from the ground floor.

Loving the comments. But no-one’s picked up on the “Jersey” reference? New Jersey the state is named after Jersey the Channel Island (English Channel that is). Weirdly closer to France than England…
