As an older brother, I’m kind of with Holly on this one. Alix just painted a target on herself.

Considering that most eggs available chicken eggs aren’t actually inseminated, this is a non issue. An egg isn’t an embryo…

    It’s more of a chicken period :P

…… @the life I draw upon: very good point!! They all could have grown and flowered and ripened to seed and then go be fertilizer for their offspring in the fullness of time……. There is only one way: Fasting forever…I’m quite amazed that Alix is so totally unaware.. what is she supposed to be? Nine? — probably another family without any children’s books on nature and the universe… but lately all characters have taken a swing into “dumb-sweet-things”..Tomorrow they’ll finally realize the egg was sent already without fouling contents, hint: the whole on the bottom……

The old joke, where dad says; “You kids stop whining about the eggs I cooked for your breakfast! Just shut up and eat !”“But dad?!?”NOW what?? Just eat it !"“The beaks, too??”

It seems like this leads directly to one of those conversations that parents dread. Having to explain the exact reason why that egg will never hatch.

If I were to ever go the meatless route, it would have to be vegetarian, eating cheese, eggs, milk, steak, ribs, chicke…nevermind.

A long time ago when I was about Holly’s age, I had a bad cold and was left home alone while everyone else was at school or work. I made myself some eggs, and accidentally left the carton of eggs out on the counter. My mother came home from work about 5 hrs later, and asked why I had left the eggs out.

I told her I was lonely and was hoping for some baby chicks to keep me company. To my surprise, she actually thought that was funny and laughed.

That place, is where else, China. They even have baby feathers on them, feet and all. It was OBVIOUSLY going to be a chicken if they had left it alone.
