I’m thinking it’s more likely the self-destruct mechanism won’t work due to shoddy parts from the lowest bidder.

This is where having a “smarter-ship” would have been a better application of Dr. Mel’s resources.

At least they don’t have to listen to that elevator music.

Reminds me of the “Wings Stay On” and “Wings Fall Off” buttons next to the volume knob on the airline jet passenger seat (Far Side).

Keep pushing the button and it will get here sooner . . . ☻

Once, to try and keep the elevator doors open for someone, I hit the alarm button, which was close to the “doors open” button. Not clumsiness, bad design! :-)

The local mall’s escalators have emergency off buttons on a pedestal placed EXACTLY where a child would press them (and adults could do so accidentally). Duh! I’ve seen the repairmen and security permanently stationed there on busy days.

There’s always an override code… Huh? What?

Computer: This ship will self-destruct in exactly 10 seconds.

Computer: Counting down. 10, 9, 8, 6—

Skroob: 6?! What happened to 7?!

Computer: Just kidding!
