Well, knock me down with a feather. I agree with Ramirez. We haven’t had decent foreign policy since at least before the Regan Administration. All them dictators we propped up or installed 30-40 years ago came back to bite us in the @$$, as well as all those rebel insurgents we armed and trained.

But our recent wars, from ‘Nam to Afghanistan, not only cost us billions, but our esteem around the world has taken a beating. How many troops do we have overseas right now? How much money do we owe? And our financially lop-sided domestic system? Other nations growing in power & influence? I don’t think Obama has the same big stick to carry with him.

It’s also interesting in another node that some of those most concerned about their own shrinking testicles have their heads firmly implanted in that dark place nearby. Yes, they’re bold indeed, recognizing deserters and draft-dodging chickenhawks as having a valid “foreign policy” defined as having OTHERS do their bombing of bystanders, and dying for them.
