When I was much younger, I used to think of Islam as a kindred religion, close to Christianity. Today, I see it as merely a pagan sect, dedicating itself to hatred, retribution and living in the past. (Although they love 21st-century weaponry.)
They don’t so much recruit as terrorise. Since their leader died in custody a few years back, they’ve become incredibly radicalised, gathering up not just disaffected youth but criminals. Over 10 000 deaths attributed to them these past 4, 5 years, and many other kidnappings. Ordinary folks are terrified. This group don’t get much in way of popular support but because of the terror they inspire in the rural backwaters of northern Nigeria, they don’t get much opposition which is why they are ‘successful’…That’s the difference with these guys.
I wonder if one can draw parrallels with the Lord’s Resistance Army who were nominally Christian. No doubt we shall learn more of this group now that they have caught the world’s attention. Finally.But they’re regionalTime for Western military intervention! Now THAT is a recruitment poster. :-|
Then again, the last intervention to locate elusive violent groups didn’t much work either
I know this is sarcasm, but perhaps we could impose on the Mexican government to ship their own cartel prisoners to this area and the two groups could then kill each other off?
I also know that it is not very Christian of me, but I have sometimes thought that we could go the way of the ancient Romans, and take such hate filled criminal groups (along with American street gangs) and place them in some kind of arena with hand weapons and have them kill each other off until the last group left standing is truly the worst in the world. Then we pay them and send them out to areas like Somalia to deal with such groups as the Somalian pirates!Why waste our own good troops on such efforts when we could at least somewhat kill two stones with one weapon?
Good Grief! These types of poor excuses for human beings even get my dander up enough that I start to sound like some of our more nasty ultra conservatives! Sorry about that, I should remember that Christ stated that “Vengeance is Mine, sayeth the eternal God” who will have eternity to take such vengeance on such hate filled people and their eternal souls. I should therefore just be happy that the grace of God allowed me to live such a different life than these types!!
In Central Africa, the “Christians” are killing Muslims in revenge for past killings of Christians. Just like Jesus taught. All this proves is that calling yourself a Christian does not make you a Christian; and (in the case of the cartoon) calling yourself a Muslim does not make you a Muslim. Even Paul Ryan calls himself a Catholic while advocating starving the poor to proved more for the rich.
Just a reminder… Other Christians haven’t ignored the Westboro freaks. So far, in the US, there has been no large Muslim street demonstration against Jihad violence. The so-called moderate Muslims support the violence by their silence.
Enoki must also love that ritual cannibalism of drinking blood and eating the flesh of your “savior”.
Which, so many religions have, and do persecute or treat women as slaves,or property, it’s well, duh, almost all of them.
We really do need however to separate the wheat from the chaff, and nuts from their tree, and terrorists from “religionists”, the last of whom are often the same item.
Islamics do not want any NON-Islamic education, for boys or girls. The Saudi type of schooling is the Jihadist teachings from the Koran. The PLA TV shows it constantly….little girls and young boys doing Promotions for the ultimate in becoming Suicide Bombers…..the Islamic Dream!-Muslims are enslaved to the Koran…..no individualism, no liberty, no freedom…..and no Bible God who died for their sins and offers forgiveness and eternal life to all who put their trust in Jesus, the Son of God promised in scriptures in the Bible. Muslims oppose the Cross of Christ and always have…proving they do not practice “peace” at all…..it is War until they rule the world….but the true God has different Plans spelled out in the Bible. It will be the same Jesus who died, rose from the grave and returned to His home in heaven who Returns and institutes God’s earthly kingdom! The Temple and Throne will be in Jewish Israel as promised.
Let’s practice peace and love like all those followers of Jesus that ran the Crusades, Inquisition, or recognize the millions who ended up dead because of disease or wars spread at the behest of “missionaries”.
btw: Mohammed was much more egalitarian, and respectful of women’s rights than his prophet (not god) Jesus. Which, Muslims also, one last time, worship exactly the same God of Abraham as in the bible, but the word works out in Arabic to “Allah”. (Jews are obviously sinful haters of the one true god as they speak Hebrew?)
That most of the “bible” religions, Jew, Christian, and Muslim, have been totally changed by latter day leaders and practitioners is the simplest of observable facts. Yes, even Buddhism has been divided, and all the adherents don’t see everything the same way, they’re just typically far less homicidal in their efforts of resolve.
