Now that is witty and, sadly, so true, especially for Issa who has no achievement to point to. But once he gets an idea, he really sticks with it no matter what reality and sobriety might say.

Joe McCarthy’s ghost seems to be running things at the RNC… and in the House.

I looked at this ‘toon this morning. Later, I thought more about it, and now feel that it is irrelevant, no matter what Benson’s intention is. The sad fact is that the new Republican Party of Lincoln’s time bears no resemblence to today’s version, except that the party has always been pro-big business. Whereas the 1850’s & 1860’s party platform espoused certain principles, including a “new birth of freedom” for the nation, full enfranchisement for all (except Indians & Chinamen, of course), they soon began selling out. First, by striking a deal with southern states to let them keep the White House a little longer by abandoning the Blacks. Today, there is only one principle: protect their wealthy financial backers from any tax increases or new taxes, and confer bailouts, subsidies and tax breaks to their businesses.

As Christ did, when he came to the temple and found all the money-changers doing business there, on the Sabbath no less, if Lincoln walked into the congressional chambers today and listened to a few “debates”, I think he would brandish a horse-whip and go after every Republican in there.

No, if Lincoln was a Republican today, he would follow Theodore Roosevelt’s example and quit the party.

If I was Lincoln, I would be insulted. Lincoln would have used much more eloquent words and the speech would have made the Democrats feel bad about the garbage they are giving the people.

And true, Lincoln would not want to be part of today’s Republican party since it too, is corrupt as the Democrats – our public office holders are doing what is right for their friends, family, and personal pocket books. Look at Reid vs. Bundy.

So, it would seem that Benson is fine with Obama concocting a LIE to cover up what happened at Benghazi, then conducting a cover up of that LIE, all the while ignoring US national interests in favor of his own personal political objectives.

I suppose Benson would be applauding Nixon if he had been a Democrat…

If Abraham Lincoln was alive today he’d be more than 200 years old.And Democrats would be calling him a racist.

TIGGER! NO, NO, three times NO! I’ve told you twice before, and wish you would not waste other’s time with such “factual” nonsense!

Everybody else: Most of you seem to know more about American history, and know that the above is sheer nonsense. You have seen my previous posts on this subject. I now believe what another commentator said about Tigger: He just enjoys the attention.

It was less than six weeks to the election and this was a black eye to the administration’s line “Bin Laden is dead, Al Qaeda is finished.”

To Steve Benson and ALL the other political cartoonists.

Today, May 6, I just read in the Boston Globe an article that reports that during the month of March, not one US soldier was killed in combat in any of our areas of occupation. BUT, over 700 combat veterans took their own lives here in the US.This, while veteran benefits continue to be scaled back, while god-knows-how many-corporations are making huge profits from their overseas operations, and big oil having their property protected by these soldiers.

Instead on continuing focus on Benghazi, and Sterling, how about drawing some ’toons drawing attention to the profiteers and our veterans, who volunteered to defend our country?

I haven’t been to these editorial cartoon pages for a LONG time, basically because you leftists are so disgusting, and as I can see here, you’ve only doubled-down on your reprehensible lies and defending that which is indefensible. Benghazi was a tragedy, the Obama administration lied about what happened there, he then called it a “phony scandal,” and you mindless partisans followed suit.

If it WASN’T a scandal, then why did Obama lie about it? That cannot be refuted. How can this NOT be a scandal, when Obama lied to us about what happened, and why? Does the truth not matter to you people? Is “winning” politically the only thing that matters to you people?
