You could use the frozen marbles to keep your drinks cold without diluting them.

That is actually a good idea! Nice one Opal. Unlike throwing cold water, which would ruin the bed & cause her more work, those would only leave a trace if not collected quickly.

Why not just pull the covers off of him?

Connie could use that idea to wake up Jeremy in Zits.

gonna so do this, this summer, when I tell my grandsons to get out of bed and they just turn over and go back to sleep. They love that sleep in time in the summer.

Why not let him sleep?

Yes, he has to hurry and get up so he can sit in his chair or maybe the park bench is waiting.

Mom used to tell our Samoyd to “go wake him up” But, I’d pull back the covers and my best friend would join me. Mom smiled, Dad just rolled his eyes… I still made it to school on time…

My late husband was congenitally late for everything. He even missed a trip to the World’s Fair because he wouldn’t get up. He heard my car leave the drive, and then told me he “didn’t think I was serious”. Anyway, I used to roll cold grapefruit under the covers.

I agree with the “Let him sleep” crowd. Stay in bed Earl, let your body heat warm the marbles, go back to sleep.

For goodness sakes, lay down and take a stand.

He’s retired, why get up, or is breakfast ready???

Your forgetting that Opal is a cleaning machine. She can’t make the bed and clean the bedroom if Earl is still sleeping.

A bag of steel or aluminum ball bearings works much better.
