Or if no help is available, how about just put a properly built brace under the free end of the board,(Couple of saw horses and some 2×4s work well here) stand to one side to guide it and use a stationary guide on the other if its really wiggly. In other words, Don’t start the job until you have all the proper tools and equipment.
