Just thinking about the havoc those finger puppets can create makes me smile – can I cut around the dotted line? Who can I chase around the house with them on my finger as it sparks my imagination beyond the keyboard?

And it totally flummoxes the computer literati.

Like the sneakers and potato chips, even the interactive format is true for the time period!

Make it an annual event for spring break.

Brian, this has been fun. We should take a break once in a while as rogebr and others have said.

SO happy when this cut-out series ends. Seems someone got bored writing and decided to take a week off.

I always enjoy Red and Rover, regardless of the format. I’m just happy that I get to peek at this artist’s work. I’ve noticed that some people seem to think Brian Basset is their employee (though I find it hard to imagine that most people would as rude to an employee as some of the comments this week have been) He’s neither an employee, nor a slave. Enjoy the art, and if you aren’t, find something else to do.

Has anyone else ever asked, "Why isn’t Rover a Basset Hound, Brian?

Red and Rover is my favorite all time comic strip. My Lab Wheebs is so much like Rover in many ways.

I really hope that neither you nor anyone close to you is facing catastrophic illness or injury. Because those would be the only legitimate reasons I can think of for a solid week of pencil puppets. Seriously!

If you look at this past weeks strip and imagine removing the dotted lines..you do have a sweet comic..Keep up the good work Brian!

As someone who is old enough to remember pencil toppers, I thought these were great. Also, very much in line with the entire vibe of the strip.

Thanks Brian for the nostalgic trip. Wonderful vignettes. One question: How do you cut them out of the screen? I tried, but it made a mess of my laptop! :-)
