Ummmm, Letterman didn’t replace Carson. That was Leno. When Letterman got passed over for the Tonight Show, he started his own competing show.

News Flash back at ya. When Carson wrote a bunch on opening monolog jokes for Letterman it was clear who Carson and most everyone else concidered his actual replacement..A yet Leno still out performed him despite all the drama.

Colbert has something conservatives lack, and hate: intelligence. If the network wanted pure, unadulterated hate and stupidity, they could have sought out Rush.

Late Night with David Letterman had about 5 good seasons. He became what he was making fun of and then it wasn’t quite so funny.

Letterman lost his unique edge years ago and just become lazy. At that time I stopped watching. Then in his later years he allowed himself to become a boot licker for a politician.I often wonder what the Letterman of 1982 would think of the Letterman of 2014 sucking to a President the way he does. The old Letterman never backed off of making fun of anyone.
