This was one of the reasons I cut Nate from my list the first time around. Lincoln doesn’t give him any breaks.

In seventh grade, I had a nightmare teacher named Miss Barbeau. If our papers had that fringe on them that you get from tearing them out of a notebook, she wouldn’t count them.

I hope the principal actually listens to Nate and has a long talk with Godfrey, how did she become a Mrs. anyway? I know this is a comic but this isn’t funny (in my humble opinion).

Again, I am all for the moral right of the artist/writer/creator…

….but this is horribly unfair, and it upsets me. And it’s happened to me, too.

If I were Nate – or Nate’s father – I’d hire a lawyer. This isn’t discipline, this is harassment. And Nate has every right to stick up for himself – be it against Gina or Mrs. Godfrey – and he has every right to be upset.

At least do the right thing and separate Nate from Gina. They obviously don’t get along.

I would not only be having a conversation with Ms. Godfrey, but the principal and if that did not help the superintendent. I have had to deal with teachers like this with my own son. They got it real quick that they did not want to deal with me again. People on power trips make me angry. And the fact that she allows this from Gina is unacceptable on every level. That little girl needs to be put in her place quickly.

He only breathes like that in Social Studies.

I keep sayin’, Nate and Gina are made for each other. They just haven’t realized it yet. Mrs. Godfrey isn’t so bad. If Nate would just chill a bit and not be such a jerk so much of the time he probably wouldn’t get in as much trouble as he does. The just seem to have a mutually destructive relationship.

Based on the reaction from Mrs. G in the third panel, I’m guessing she’s having a bad reaction to Nate yelling, especially at her. But given the way she keeps trying to suppress Nate, and given the really outrageous nature of this particular demand, I don’t see why she’s surprised. With the exception that the principal is already conditioned to Nate aggravating Mrs. G, even he would have to agree that this went too far this time.

You don’t have to be so CRUEL, Mrs. Godzilla!

I had a teacher who played favourites. Grade 6. Drove us nuts. Good thing he almost set fire to the classroom in spring, as when we put out the fire for him he knew he owed us a fair shake.
