Well, it’s two hours after Bev posted, and Kevin’s still not back…wonder whether he’s been planning a few things Melba doesn’t know about.

Oh! He just walked into the Tiki!

Hi Kevin…. are you planning on having a beer?

I’m scared to watch Bev’s first video cos it has “Loud” in the title.

It’s after midnight. And besides, like most boxers, Fenton doesn’t like loud noises.

Were you planning on eating, as well?

Cos the Monkey was here all day, smoking up some great yak ribs.

I know you’re not fond of banana daks… but you’re welcome to substitute a beer on a Yak-N-Dak.And I also made a big batch of shredded yak for the Yakety Snack barbecue sandwiches.

When I’m passing through, I like to have the perch sandwich at that little art deco bar at the corner of Live and Learn….And I saw Kevin, I’m pretty sure, but he was dressed so different…I think he’s got a…..um…. secret life….It’s the general’s uniform with the tutu that struck me….And no the tutu wasn’t pink, it was desert chocolate chip camo…..Looked pretty good actually…stylish….

    Mmmm…

    x_Tech and Kevin’s sandwiches looked so good…. if I say so myself….

I think I’ll eat one myself….New at the Tiki…. our own version of the Philly Cheese steak…the Ballard Yak-Cheese Yak-Steak …made with our own pepper yak jack.

I have projects like that started all over the place at my house.

A bit of calligraphy and illumination on one table, research for heraldry on another, some sewing laid on the machine and fabric on the new double armchair to make a formal cover with heraldry applique.

And that’s just recent stuff, my blood pressure charts and device take space, all the vitamins and the clothes from camping that are either waiting hand washing or ironing from machine washing, andall the DVDs I’ve been filling this week. (but NO Game of Thrones).

Bev — I saw lots of fireflies, which we called lightning bugs, and a very occasional cardinal… and once, even a scarlet tanager… when I lived in the Midwest as a child.

I haven’t seen any of them since I moved to California a long long long time ago.

I used to love blue jays when I was small….. bright blue, chattery, unafraid… I was too young to know these friendly clowns were such pests in a bird feeder…. and later I forgave them, anyway, because of their entertaining personalities. They were also easy to find, with their crests like cardinals and distinctive black and white markings.

I was disappointed for years not to see them in California, either. I hadn’t recognised our Western Scrub Jay … no crest, no black or white markings. But if you watch them for a while, there’s no mistaking their antics, or their chipper, bold attitude.

Many people dislike them and drive them away…. but I like to see them strutting and making noise…. boldly drinking from my plant saucers even while I water the pots a foot away.

    Happy…. I’ve never seen a Steller’s jay, either.

I think they live near here… but maybe not near enough.

    Funny, we’re cross-posting at the same time….

Yup, Bev…. those are the jays I remember, except ours had taller and pointier crests.

    Aw, Ess…. I didn’t know you cared……
