^^Go live in Chicago since they have the toughest ant-gun laws in the country.Just leave your windows open, take evening walks and draw up a solid will.

Safety laws don’t kill people, they strangle the life out of them….Aside from the quip gun clubs and shooting only 50 or so years ago was one of the US’s major sporting pastimes. It has only been in the very recent past that massive attempts at gun restrictions have been made.Sure, there were restrictions on where you could carry but no serious attempts were made to disarm the populace or restrict self-defense..It has been the rise of Progressivism and the Left in America that has seen a widespread and determined call for disarming the public. But, then again one should expect that from the Left as they do love a good dictatorship; even if it is one of virtue.

Gun control, YES. But, equally responsible for the violence in our society is the steady diet of shootings, explosions and assaults shown on television, in movie theaters and video games which affects all of us!

And, in so many “accidental” shootings, if the gun hadn’t been so handy, the shooting would not have occurred.

Since bullets taken internally are dangerous to ones health, they whould only be obtained by prescription. Guns don’t kill people, bullets do.

Guns are not a healthcare issue any more than cars are. Yes there are injuries and deaths associated with both, but these are not biological issues which is what the Surgeon General should be talking about.

Boy, 1opinion, and you too Night-Gaunt, this isn’t a either – or issue. Safety rules can easily be made obsessively pedantic and today often are..This can be as simple as self obvious warning labels forced on things because idiot lawyers (that is redundant sorry… there isn’t any other kind…) and safety freaks demand them.A coffee cup with “Warning: Contents may be hot”. That is one small paper cut in a death of a million paper cuts.As for airbags: They are almost as dangerous as not having them. What kind of safety device needs a bunch of warning labels plastered everywhere (look at the sun visors in your car) about how dangerous your safety equipment is?If airbags are so great why don’t they get used in race cars?Ever hear of “Servesafe?” Everybody has to take a test and get a card. Nothing in the resturant industry changed only now idiot bureaucrats (again a redundancy) can feel good that they did something.Warning labels on five gallon buckets?.There are thousands upon thousands of idiot safety rules in place today that eat up billions of dollars to do nothing or next to nothing. But, there are those who proclaim confidently that no matter how many rules the government makes they are all good and necessary for our protection. I wave the BS flag at that idiocy.

This is probably only somewhat relevant, but I recall a scene in the movie from the ’60’s called HAWAII, dealing with the proud Christian missionaries who went there in the 1700’s to convert the “heathens” One star, Max Von Sydow, is one of the missionaries who sees a practice he does not approve of, and goes to the Hawaiian Queen, demanding she pass laws against such practices (customs, really) .NO, she replied, TOO MUCH LAW MAKE PEOPLE MAD!

Everyone where I live has a gun room, big deal.Anyway, some on the left want Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign now, so they can replace her with another liberal before the senate passes to GOP control.

“Do you know that we have a “quick-response” police force, at least in 90% of our nation ??”Average response time for a 911 call in Detroit is 58 minutes. Average response time of a Smith & Wesson is 1400 feet per second. Which one will you bet your life on?

I don’t need a roll cage (and they are not made of titanium usually) or 5 point harness for highway speeds. I don’t plan on driving at 150 to 200 mph in my car anytime soon.A seat and shoulder belt are adequite. In fact, I am just as likely to survive 98% of any accident I get in with that as I am with airbags added.Worse, at lower speeds of 30 to 50 mph I am far, far more likely to suffer ADDITIONAL injury from airbag deployment rather than have any increase in survival over seat belts alone.Maybe you should read up on the original research done into them back in the 70’s and since. Back then they were forced into vehicles by Jill Claybrook the moron in Carter’s administration heading the NHTSA. She was and is an idiot.

“Now if there were tanks in the streets…”Given the pothole ridden disrepair of most streets, a tank is sounding more & more like a good idea! ;^)

You’re right. As a conservative and gun owner, I have no objection to the nomination.
