It so hard to catch up with technology. (What do Earl and Opal even bother having a computer?)

Click it with that hammer you keep in your toolbox — forget the mouse and the little X, just whack it right in the middle.

Earl’s actually a step ahead of Opal for a change. While she’s still stuck on mice, he’s thinking like a tablet user.

I used to help my brother from long distance with his computer issues. This one time I couldn’t get him to accomplish something and finally asked "What do you see in the window?!

He came back “Well, I see a red truck passing by.”

Don’t assume, dear. I’m getting close to 60. Our first computer was a Tandy 1000, the 2nd was a PC clone we bought, the 3rd was a PC clone that the Mr. put together. He still puts them together.

I tried to teach my mother to play Solitaire on the computer, and after moving the first few cards the way I showed her, she started trying to use the mouse as a remote.

My first was a Trash80 (TRS 80) Model One. Then I upgraded to the Color Computer and from there to Tandy 1000 which I equipped with a 5 megabyte hard drive before Tandy supported that. I’m 71 now and still building (or rebuilding computers from components. Using Linux for OS these days, as it is less buggy and open to exploits than either Windoze or Apple OS. I also have several Mac Powerbooks. Old is not the same as dumb or incapable of learning. End of rant.

I am 76, have a laptop that I never use because my I-pad is so much easier. I actually have four I-pads because I keep three grandchildren a lot and they all want to play on them.

A friend of mine called me to fix something wrong with her computer..She had unplugged everything to give it a hard reboot. So I just plugged it in and told her it was caused by ’ Operator Error ’.

If it’s a malicious ad, clicking on the X can install malware/virus because the X is a disguised install button.

How old is Earl? I am 60 and I believe a lot of us in my age group are IT savvy. Yes I had a lot of laughs during the 80s when I did helpdesk support. I miss those days helping people like Earl and getting a good laugh at the same time.

I installed AdBlock Plus a few months ago because adverts were popping up left, right and centre and was making my computer go slow and freeze up.I don’t regret installing Adblock Plus one bit.
