Lousy odds on all those bets, except Varnes’. You can’t make your fortune betting on the obvious…no one will take the other side for much over even money.The money’s in long shots….the problem there is that by their very definition they’re likely to lose.
So you study the field, maybe subscribe to the daily Cartoonist…see how Rat and Pig have been running….whether it really looks like Luann is finally turning 18….
You know… get a feel for it…and then one day you just KNOW it’s the right day to bet that Satchel’s gonna beat the cr@p out of Bucky on Thursday….The clown gives you 16 to 1.
And THEN you lose your money.
But you woulda won much more than what you’d get for Garfield napping….if it had only happened.Which it didn’t.
And that’s why I stay away from bookies, and spend the money on cookies instead.
