You could try The Hotel Mon Signor, I hear there are at least ‘Four Rooms’ available there… although room service is a little iffy.

If you have to ask, you can’t afford it; because we overcharge for EVERYTHING (but don’t itemize)!!!

She was right, though. If you ask, you’re on a budget, and such places are made for people without such things. Also, it’s a pretty standard response. Sometimes even instructed by management, although they’d probably deny it. Then show you the way out.

And that “Others” sign points the way to the seedy motel next door that makes the Bates place look like Shangri-La. Sweet Dreams!

Oh! Wait! Stephen King just checked out of Room 1408 with a look of horror on his face. It’s yours for an extra $100.

This is sort of the way most people get bumped on overbooked flights. The airline bumps those who paid the least for their tickets first. So if you saved money by making your reservation three months ago, you give up your seat to the guy who decided last night to book the flight.

If I were running an airline, I’d charge a flat rate of $100 for a flight. That doesn’t give you a seat, what it allows you to do is show up at the airport with 500 other people and bid on a seat. Of course only the highest bidders get on board. Losers get $25 airline vouchers for a bag of peanuts on the next flight they bid on successfully. The vouchers expire at midnight.

Don’t worry a hotel critic will come in one day and get the same treatment. He or she will then write an article and destroy the hotel’s reputation putting them out of business .

Hopefully the poor guy didn’t lose his room to Alec Baldwin……that would be a kick in the teeth to any common man.

American Airlines bump passengers for cargo. The cargo has less “flexible travel plans.”

Believe it or not: I had a similar experience the first time I rode AMTRACK. My family had reserved seats for our trip to Florida, but the seats were given to a group of others. It was a nightmare. We were treated like unwanted baggage the whole trip.
