Since Wally can control the Dittoes with his mind, perhaps he can use them to escape being held at gunpoint.

Holly really can be one kinky mouse! Before Fifty Shades of Grey tore up the bestseller book charts, there was Holly’s little book. VU Venus in Furs. Such a contoversial little book, Velvet Underground could only allude to the subject matter. Now get out there and make your bids. You wouldn’t want me to punish you or would you

This looks like a video student’s Master Work.

I can’t prefer one version over the other.

I don’t read all the comments. Maybe this has already been mentioned. The New York Daily News online comics page now consists of almost the entire gocomics lineup. Including Endtown! More exposure for Mr. Neathery! Hooray!

It’ll be interesting to know what Jim thinks the limits of the Topsiders’ reach is. I’m guessing that he’s thinking of Endtown itself. The drones have greatly expanded my impression of the Topsider’s abilities and suggest that they have the capacity to hunt down and exterminate mutants (and mutant hideouts) anywhere on the continent. They might even dominate what’s left of the world. The one thing they would have trouble finding is a settlement that is as far underground as Endtown. It will be interesting to see if I’m right.

If he’s referring to Endtown…he’s in for a big disappointment.

The Topsiders may not be as widespread as we think. Aside from flashbacks, we’ve only seen the Hillside neighborhood, and maybe the Topsider and mutant enclaves have only seen it, too. Maybe the Topsider communities needed the satellite to see what’s beyond Hillside and what happened to the rest of the world.

I can’t see Topsiders in control of the whole world. According to what we know about their world, it is more fragmented than Earth as we know it now. For example, the countries we are dealing with in this story occupies some portion of what we know is the U.S. Aaron tends to operate pretty much along the same science and technology we have here. The major exceptions being the Amesworth radiation, the mutagen (most of us presume it’s a virus) and the flying capabilities of the air scouts. Likewise I guess most of Endtown’s world is just as fragmented. It would make for the arms manufacturer (I forget the company name at present) to agitate as many borders as possible to keep making more money. I would not be surprised that there are many vast areas of the planet where the populace went to sleep one night only to wake up as anthros. There amy be no topsiders there.

The $100 question is what exactly exists beyond the borders of Hillside. My understanding is that, with the exception of Bordavia, all of what we’ve seen takes place within the geographical location of Hillside. Aaron has said that Hillside is a city state, and I suspect that Endtown and the Topsider colony we’ve seen are located within its borders. Bordavia has a sort of Eastern European feel to it, so I’m guessing it is not located on the American continent.Still, we have no idea how far the Topsiders’ reach extends, how far the mutagenic plague has spread or even if the rest of the world was as devastated as Hillside. My general impression is that the rest of the world is in the same shape as the part we’ve seen, a war torn ruin full of cute fuzzy dwarfs, but the closest thing I have for proof is that no mention is made of a place where things are different. Jim could change that with just a few words.

I like the idea of the world being a lot larger place (as it actually is). While the virus can be truly world-wide in its effect, conventional and Amesworth radiation can only cover so much with dust deserts. And APEX, even with advanced survellance, can only exert so much real authority over the vastness of the whole planet. Countryside more abandoned than devastated might be possible well away from obvious population centers that would attract bombing, for example. On the other hand, this is Arron’s world, and the world-wide devastation may be more artistic than “realistic”.

Is it just me, or does Jim have a Squiggy vibe, from Lenny and Squiggy, neighbors to Lavergne and Shirley? Sarah or Shirley? JusAskin
