Whenever a new cohort of kids comes of (driving) age in the neighborhood, everyone has to get new mailboxes. One neighbor got fed up and encased his mailbox in stone and mortar. One group took it as a challenge. When M80’s failed to make a dent, they packed it with lighter fluid-soaked fertilizer. He ended up with the windows on the front and side of his house all broken, a hole in his roof where a chuck of stone fell through, and a dent in his garage door. The only reason why the group who did it got caught was because of gossip at school.
Little known fact: When child had tongue frozen to metal in remote area (railway track), the only way to free the tongue without ripping off the skin was, you guessed it, urine. Yeah, pretty gross.“Pretty gross” is an understatement!
