Uhh, other than we have a few thousand more tanks than the Army wants, or can use, and those are just the mothballed ones, the image isn’t hardly true.

Oh please. Did someone took a deeper look at the russian military? Even if Obama cuts the military budget 66% US spend more than the double in one year to the army as the russian army. Only a small part of the russia army is well equiped and only a small part of their equipment is in good condition. (especially the navy)

The US can still carpet bomb the hell out of any small, unarmed third world nation

It’s not your war USA. The ‘blame it on Obama’ shtick seems so infantile from us who live in the rest of the world. You may have heard of us.

Drawing a cartoon without reading the news is pretty irresponsible. Defense cuts have nothing to do with preparedness — they have to do with the age-old process of old men fighting the last war (and generally losing for that reason) plus politicians protecting unnecessary defense spending in their home states.

The sad part is the cuts aren’t in the right places because no congressmen would dare cut a useless pet project that might mean less jobs. Instead they cut benefits for survivors and veterans. I agree military cuts should happen. I also agree that once again big government gets in the way. Spending authority needs to be given to those who actually know what the military needs – the military commanders.

People on the government dole overwhelmingly vote Democrat. The military generally doesn’t.

You say Vietnam was a win until the Democrats got control?? I’m no fan of LBJ, but he wasn’t president in 1973, when Nixon signed the “peace” deal.

@swrSorry – I mean especially their navy is in bad condition – now since 20 years. Most of their ships would be scraped long ago in western countries.I didn’t mention the chinese, because they invested a lot since the last decade to modernize their army. Actually I think they are still not as modern as the western army’s, but close behind. And their equipment is in much better conditions as the russian equipment is.
