It still appears on the Albanian flag. As for the notion that Russia “borrowed” from German culture for most of it’s history, you obviously haven’t looked at Russian history, religion, architecture, or language.You do have one thing partially right. The Russian people don’t have a very long or good history of thinking for themselves. Putin is doing what the Soviets and the Tzars did before him.

I think you’re being too literal here. Just because he goes to church doesn’t mean he’s not of the mind as the hammer-and-sickle set in other areas.
