Russia is a country. The USSR (Soviet Union) no longer is. Although conservatives often make this mistake, Obama never would, because he’s fluent in world affairs. So it is a problem with this cartoon.
There’s a fair number of nations that are no longer in the USSR, Russia is Russia. Putin WOULD like to keep more of them in his sphere of influence, especially their oil reserves and other resources, and THAT is why the EU is courting them…
