Even 20 years after the Cold War, we still see US/Russian relations as good vs. evil. It’s all about interests, and since 1945, survival by keeping the nukes in check. I just don’t believe in good vs. evil. Elites are greedy and egomaniac and the ordinary people just want to survive.
It is very naive to think that just because MacCarthy was an asshole on this side of the iron curtain, the Russians must have been the good guys (or vice versa, for that matter!)
