Abolish the Permanent Security Council members’ veto and perhaps we can get a functional U.N. Until then, it’s a WW-II victors’ plaything. The term “third world” came about within the U.N. precisely as a loose grouping of countries who did not have any power found in the 1st world (western powers) and 2nd world (eastern/communist powers). i.e. were not aligned with NATO nor the Warsaw pact.Since then the term 3rd World has lost its original meaning and has come to denote usually impoverished countries with “developing” economies.
The UN is best left as a toothless sounding block for the world’s mouthpieces. Sort of like what the Founding Fathers of the US had in mind for the US Congress.

Time to reform and redefine the U.N.

Does “reform” mean abolish?

I’m hoping you don’t really mean that. Or think it would accomplish anything.
