Shannon’s like: "Kill that noise!… I’ll have you out of there in a jiffy (or a ‘jimmy’)!…

She must work for the “Phoenix Foundation” (MacGyver)…. – Either that, or she has been waiting for this day to get to evaluate Aunt Toni’s cosmetic line…. – Speaking of inventing, looks like Brad and Toni will need a new “hiding place”, now!… – So, will there be a press conference to figure out why two firefighters werent paying attention to “Safety Week” during their tours with “Reddy the Fire Truck”?…if they didn’t then, they’ll have new material drawn from inspiration….If “Rescue 911” were still on, Will Shanter would be “bent over in laughter” on camera!…

    WHEEEEEEWWWW!!!!

Thanks folks. I really do hope Shannon is reaching for a credit card to do the “shim” trick. When I first saw the 4th panel, I also thought she was going to rip Toni off.

It reminded me of the old Soupy Sales prank that got him in real trouble in the early 60’s. For those that don’t know, Soupy Sales had a kid’s TV show broadcast locally in the NYC area on a local station (WNEW-TV Metromedia) which later joined the “Fox” network. As a prank, early one New Year’s Day morning on a special broadcast, he went in front of one of the TV cameras “point blank” and whispered to the awakened children something to this effect:

“Hey Kids… You wanna do your ol’ pal Soupy a really big favor? Next time your dad is asleep, go into his pants pocket, and take out some of those pieces of ‘green paper…’ and send them to me here at Channel 5… and I will send you a post card from Puerto Rico!”

The show was suspended from broadcast for 1 week after that. This, after an earlier incident got his show suspended for 3 days for telling the nefarious “Fire Truck” joke live on TV…. You know… the "word that begins in “F” and ends in<…….> :-))))

This is silly – first off they’re firefighters and know how to kick down doors. Secondly we already saw in the earlier strip that the door does indeed open out and not into the closet so getting it open is not an issue. But I guess this isn’t related to reality.

-Oh, bull hockey. -There is no one way that a kid will act if not given supervision, first of all. I grew up with kids like that and some of them actually read comic books instead of stealing money. I also had a neighbor who had plenty of attention from his parents and he landed in jail after stealing cars.-Second thing: you have no idea of how much time her father spends with her when he isn’t trying to build a career, and you don’t know if her father is teaching her right from wrong.

enlarge the strip …. it’s green inside that she’s going for. Not a credit card.

I’m not yet convinced… I can’t tell what she’s reaching for… or what she has in her hand. We could be seeing cash in the back of the pocket, but with a credit card in the front that she’s grabbing. Or, what we see as “green” could be an AMEX card, as stated elsewhere. I guess we’ll have to see, come tomorrow.

But why, oh why, would Greg have this befall Shannon, having taken all this previous time to build up this relationship between her and “Bwad” and the others? Why wipe out all her “Atta-girls” with just one “Oh $h#T???”

That is a cosmetic bag. It was inside Toni’s purse. Shannon removed the cosmetic bag from the purse, opened it, took out a few things, noticed the wallet in Toni’s purse and has taken it out, opened it, and now is removing its contents.

Yes, and you also let the whole fire department know how incompetent you are by calling..Well, you have to be prepared to take a little ribbing, especially when you’re courting, and when you’re trying for a little privacy….What! You mean these firemen are all so perfect they never made a mistake? Good thing none of them were present when Jesus invited anyone who’d never sinned to cast the first stone at the prostitute who they were condemning to death. You may recall that beginning with the oldest, they ALL left. Guess those who were oldest realized first that they have sinned also – and we, who are so quick to judge others, may be too self-absorbed and “righteous” to recall our own failings.

For those of you who believe that Shannon is only getting out a credit card to try to unlock the closet door, just remember that young kids ARE capable of stealing. It’s happened before and will happen again, especially if they’re not told that it’s wrong and warned never to do it again. We already see that Shannon is growing up not just without stability but also without rules and discipline. Considering that, a child like her will think nothing of taking what isn’t theirs.

It does, but rules and discipline are necessary for that to happen. If a child never learns that while he/she is still young, they’ll continue the behavior that can lead to serious consequences later on. Shannon’s dad has already shown that he isn’t interested in being a father to her, and therefore, has not even bothered to teach her the difference between right and wrong.

it’s clearly a white edge lining to the inside of the covering flap, not a white strap.Whether the edges were drawn sharp or not, there’s green shown inside the wallet. I doubt Toni qualifies for an Amex card.

As an undergraduate student, I qualified for an AMEX green card, even with no job or anything. It was the 1st card I ever had, before any “oil” cards or dept. store cards, etc. AMEX really wanted to “catch’em young,” so they actually had a “recruiting drive” at my univ. At the time, there was no specific line of credit so there was nothing to exceed.

Now, Visa/Master card was different. That took much longer as both involved obtaining a specific line of credit from a bank. I recall actually going on an “interview” with the credit manager of he bank’s branch to help my chances of getting approved. Apparently, it worked.

Funny… today… I’m trying to “dump” all my credit cards. :-(

For people to assume that a fireman would be embarrassed right off the bat, Nuh-uh… – Trust me. They’ve heard all kinds of stories in their service. Same goes for Docs and Cops, too. I’ve heard stories from Paramedic and Firefighter friends. People in all kinds of situations that make the rescuees feel “self-conscious” or embarrassed when people go in to rescue them. As long as Brad and Toni don’t play with lighters or do something dumb with fire (cookouts excluded), they won’t feel so bad… – Now, if they scream and cry, on the other hand…..
