Actually, FPF, it depends on the country. I understand KFC is more popular in China than anything else.

Funny you mention China. I had to go there for work and the hotel I stayed in was attached to their version of the Mall of America, complete with a TGi Friday’s.

The KFC outlets are very popular in South Africa, mainly with the previously-disadvantaged people; the more educated people prefer not to clog their arteries with animal fats and trans fats. MacDonald’s is catching on now, too.

We have Subway and KFC here in Iceland but no McDonald’s (don’t miss it, they used to be here but were expensive as hell so nobody shopped there)

Bart, to some of us it is a serious ordeal. If I have to sit in a plane for more than a few hours, my sciatica takes a very bad turn for a couple of weeks.

There’s also the very real threat of “economy class syndrome” on long flights. Cramped in the cheap seats without much ability to move or stretch, the risk of a fatal blood clot is high, even for younger folks. Solution? Front of the plane, of course.

One of my sisters-in-law reported a couple of years ago that KFC in Turkey is a wonderful dish; whatever they do to it, they prepare it like real food.

Do they actually drive on the “wrong” side of the road in South Africa? I am from the US, yes.

There is a very large chain of McDonald’s in Poland. They even have their own street name!

To all those complaining about long plane flights… if you are travelling to a destination 4,000 miles away, you are there in less than 8 hours. Your great grandparents would have called that “science fiction”.

It’s a form of American colonization, my country fights it. I will not elaborate cuz don’t feel like starting anything.

KFC in another part of the world will not be the same as in the states. Even here in Canada you can’t get mashed potatoes with gravy, only fries but they’ll put gravy on the fries and make poutine (yuck!). We don’t go to KFC anymore, just Popeyes.
