    Exact communication is truly important. This three-pronged language of ours can carry different meanings to different people, depending on who says what to whom and what intonation is used.

    That actually is what he said. “A crust of bread is better than nothing.” “Nothing is better than true love” therefore, by the transitive property, a crust of bread is better than true love. Sort of like how the prefix in- can mean not or very, as in “invaluable”. Or worse, “inflammable”
