Interesting story gap between yesterday’s Silly Look on Gene’s face, and today’s line that Mary Lou now knows about her dad’s intent to sell the restaurant. Us guys cannot keep secrets from the loves of our lives.

how did she figure 25% of the business is her’s? not like she had money to invest in it. sounds like the other daughter is being totally froze out.

So, Marylou and Gene can buy the property for 1/2 price. Sweet deal, I bet Gus offered Gene very good terms.

I still wonder, though how they got from the farm complaining about how much work it was, to at the restaurant helping out for the early spring influx of snowbirds. Who is minding the farm?

@ARLOSDAD: Lie? What lie? What does Gene know that Gus has not told Marylou? We don’t know what Gene told MaryLou, but I suspect it was, “You will have to ask your dad about that.”

Marylou’s character is turning into a real “witch”! Gene should cut his losses.

If 49 % belongs to her, then he can’t really sell it without her agreement. I’m still not sure how selling the restaurant will make her life easier. They still need to work and have income.

Many of you are forgetting that Mary Lou grew up in and around that restaurant and to have her father talking of selling it is probably as upsetting as if he were to tell her he’s selling the family farm/house and moving to Boca.

And as for her being a “witch” – that’s not a fair assumption. Just because she is mad that her father was even thinking of selling and not discussing this with her, doesn’t make her evil.

And yes, I realize this is a cartoon, before anyone can tell me it is.

scetwitch, liked your line about knowing it’s a comic strip….But as I’m sure you know, it is better described as a series of graphic short stories…I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think it was legitimate literature..The history of American Letters shows that literature has taken many forms…The GD album American Beauty is some the finest of American literature…Richard Pryer’s rants..(Ever wonder what Mark Twain would think about Richard Pryor?)… .And who would deny that the screen plays of the finest movies aren’t literature…Not much, but some Rap is literature….

I’m likely late on his but I think Gene (w/ help from Arlo & Janis) will buy out Gus. That way, the restaurant stays in the family.

Nah, I’ll stick with my idea of giving Mary Lou the proceeds to get the farm up and running
