While I would agree with you about all the hype of the “Super Bowl”, and to me it is just another football game, just as any other televised football game is, I do think that your comments about those that do watch it are not really called for. And your majority also consists of children that usually do not watch football, a majority of women that do not watch football, and the elderly that also generally do not watch football. So (as usual when you try to attempt to present facts at all) your majority may very well still be even a minority after all. Also, as advertisers are willing to spend literally millions of dollars for even a 30 second commercial, they must fully believe that this game is reaching that 100+ million purchasing viewers!!
You’d think a dude who’s uber educated (especially a sociologist like yourself) would have avoided talking smack about a game most Americans find entertaining in such terms.
