Obama: Y'know, Mr. Christie, being president is like swimming in the rapids of history Christie: No kiddin'? In Jersey, Mr. President, we prefer to use the friggin' bridge. As it were. In a manner of speaking.
Trust me, Christie is not going to run for President in 2016.I told you Sarah Palin would not run in 2012 and I was correctChristie was likely until his recent problems. Palin was a no brainer. (Yuk-yuk!)You’ve claimed Hillary will not run. I think it depends on whether any real competition emerges. My guess is she isn’t up for a repeat of 2008. She won’t run if it means over a year of hard campaigning, but would be happy to take the nomination if it looks ripe for the taking. I don’t see anyone in the GOP camp who would scare her at this point.
Christie is still keeping the option open. He’s hoping the scandals blow over, but even if they do, the GOP base was already uneasy with the guy. I believed Christie when he said he didn’t know what his underlings were doing, but do you think the conservatives who bash Obama for being oblivious, won’t paint Christie with the same brush?Christie was already in the position of trying to convince the hard right that they should support him because he’s more “electable” than Rand Paul or Ted Cruz. His main argument is severely damaged & I doubt he turns it around.
On the road from Bengazi to the Bridge. Parallel stories. Who knew what when. Lybia, four American citizens dead. Little or no effort to save them. “what diffence does it make now?” A waste of time asking the president/sec. of state. Not that many people could have been asleep.Interesting to note news stories of the bridge and fallout. Not many stories about the Bengazi murders. We will just have to wait for the made for TV movie to get half the truth.Bottom line difference. No one died on the New Jersey/New York bridge.
I love the fact that you can wander over the bridge into Jersey for free, however getting out again costs you a toll. The only ‘free’ bridge I’m aware of is between Easton and Philipsburg.
Your memory of American political history seens to go no further back than the end of 2008, and flawed at that. Do you remember the disastrous economy Obama inherited from the Republicans? Do you remember the pact a group of Republican congressmen agreed upon to block all Obama initiatives and assure a one term presidency? .The aggregate consensus of some real political historians have tentatively ranked Obama 14th best president. That’s 3 spots ahead of Reagan at 17th; 8 ahead of GHW Bush at 22nd; tied with LBJ; and of course way ahead of G. Bush at 34th spot. Warren Harding ranked the worst and Abe Lincoln the best. .I don’t think you’re so much a student of history as a follower of an ideology.

Too bad the president’s genuine goals for hope and change got hi-jacked by those of greed, avarice, and personal ego.
