Dude, I’m so bad at chess, even I can beat me!

Well on the way…

My kids can usually contrive to beat me at chess. Two reasons. I stink at chess, and they’re REALLY annoying when they need to be in order to win at chess. The typical thing is to get me thinking about what I’m making for dinner while I’m trying to get a bishop where I need it.

I’m mediocre at chess but waaaay back in high school I introduced a friend to the game. He turned out to be almost a savant – within weeks he was first board on the school team and could offer even the masters at the local chess club a challenge. I believe he told me years later than he was rated grand master.So what’s the old saying, “Those that can’t do, teach”?

I’m meh at chess. Being ADHD, I can’t think about MY moves PLUS their moves let alone 5 moves ahead! This is also why I stink at Checkers! (but not Chinese Checkers.)

How about Checkers instead boys?

I never thought I’d see the day when Toby would just fling his game controller to one side for ANYTHING!
