I miss the good old days where Jim Davis would write a story line that lasted for about a week. Many MANY years ago he wrote one where Garfield got hit on the head and lost his memory. I was a kid and freaked out over the entire thing. Jon finally clocked Garfield over the head (with Liz’s supervision) which resulted in Garfield’s memory returning. I miss stuff like that.
I remember a classic Garfield strip where a TV show had Garfield claiming to be able to eat ten times his body weight. The show offered the cat 270 pounds of lasagna … therefore making his weight 27 pounds. Unfortunately, he ate only 219 pounds and said “Things went so well in rehearsal …” Ha.
