You’re correct. There is no comparison between the bridge scandal and the IRS scandal. It wasn’t like shutting down the bridge prevented people from voting or expressing their political beliefs. After all, Christie (or his team) only annoyed a few state supporters of his opponent, whereas the IRS sought to silence national opposition.
“I.R.S. scandal”? Does G. Varvel mean the I.R.S. looking closely at the sudden and questionable creation of political groups—across the spectrum—because of the Supreme Court’s foolish rulings overturning campaign finance reform?
That wasn’t a scandal. That was the I.R.S. doing what it is supposed to do: make sure that so-called non-profits follow the rules.
The scandals—besides the Supremes’ ruling—are that we continue to permit religious institutions to pay no taxes—income or property—and that wealthy people pay no taxes.

I think there’s been a couple, but I agree you have a point. It does seem there is a lot of knee jerk reaction to use Obama as a defense.
It’s almost as bad as the way some of the left have of throwing ’it’s all Bush’s fault’ around whenever someone criticizes Obama.
There are dittoheads on both sides. Sorry.

Christie hasn’t fired the person responsible; he’s still in office.
