I began martial arts at 51, & weighed almost 300 pounds. Now, at 57, I feel great, have lost the weight, & am working on my 3rd degree black belt. Hang in their Ralph, & do something exciting! You are never too old!
53 tomorrow, about 18 pounds lighter than I was at 52. I think of my age as something I achieved myself, not a crime that was done to me. I also refer to the Distinguished side of 50 (in between the Respectable side of 40 and the Grand side of 60).

My other categories are the Dangerous side of 10, Legal side of 20, Improved side of 30 (which started my thinking on these – Mom thought our tour guide in Alaska was in her 20s, but I could see around her eyes that she was over 30), Incorrigible side of 70, Venerable side of 80, Fragile side of 90, and Incredible side of 100.
MayKitten: The PDR takes ads and has been known to leave out side effects of its sponsors’ products; the lower cost Pill Book is more reliable..I never learned a Linotype, but I can set from a California case with no more light than from a candle.

I know Ralph feels. Chronologically, I’m 55. Mentally I’m 25, and I’m trapped in an 85 year old body.

On my 50th birthday I was standing on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Went back and did it a 2nd time a couple of years later.
