Is Gene in a snit?

I thought they were so cool and laid back

Major breakup coming?

Guess all the hard work at their farm and the restaurant is finally catching up to him, he wants some time to relax and enjoy life for a while.

i guess a lot has been going on with gene since we last saw him. or is this just a reflection on how JJ feels about wanting to take it easy?

Gene, Gene, Gene, It’s always a love hate relationship when it comes to tourists…Ask anybody on Mackinac Island. They are your life’s blood, but they really do get on your nerves…..And yes, you have to work hard….Lighten up, Dude…(I think he’s drunk…)

I saw a bumper sticker in Alaska once that said “If it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them?”

nice option if you are rich But a load of crap for the rest of us. most of us can’t be so whimsical about our employment.

If I had closed my eyes and only heard the dialogue, I’d swear that was Arlo talking to Janis.

Re: the negative comments: is being honest with your spouse is a bad thing?

Didn’t he have a beard and long hair the last time we saw him? Perhaps he’s longing for a more routine 8-5 gig in a cubicle.

If you look closely, Gene appears to have shaved between panels 2 and 3. Or maybe the heat from the fire singed his whiskers.
