This is how you Manage your Human Resources… you don’t have to feel that this is a person (as in Personnel) it (the male or female) is just a thing that we can throw away when it is convenient. *“Thanks for your service and labor and extra effort but we don’t need you any more so go away and starve with your family or whatever.”

No, he was a shepherd. No need to be sheepish about your mistake, though; it’s a long, drawn-out story told somewhat haltingly, and if one forgets a detail now and then, one can be forgiven.

I read this and certain other strips because they are engaging and clever. “Funny” is optional.

It appears that Corporate America’s opinion of their employees hasn’t changed in the last few thousand years. And here I thought that it was only in the last 30 years that a hard-working, loyal employee came to be reduced to a line item on their P/L statements, firmly placed in the expense column, which translates to expendable.

I think corporate execs would prefer feeding us to pigs rather than letting us go; the former doesn’t require a severance package.

I think the Homer storyline is intriguing. Goes into depth, is fraught, and stuff.

@ asharah: Not quite. Belle Gunness apparently buried some of her victims in her pig-sty after putting them in large shipping trunks.

We’ve all been fed to the pigs — and yes, working for WalMart IS the retirement plan. It’s the entry level, family support, and retirement plan all rolled into one — AND you can collect food stamps all the while.
