Here is the problem with most people. They compare the US budget to their own at home. Or to a business. The US should be thought of as eternal, and it’s budget should reflect that. No, we don’t want to amass a huge debt for our children. But we should also plan on making investments now which will pay off for them in the future. Guess which one of these two we are not doing? We’re leaving them debt, but little help in paying it off. What can we leave them? Bridges, roads, a modern electrical grid, high speed rail. But do we? No, we are too cowardly, too greedy. Folks, we are going to leave them a debt no matter what we do, it is unavoidable. So let’s at least leave them something worthwhile to go for it.
EVERY tax loophole is an act of political patronage. .To close any loophole would result in someone in Congress getting less in the way of bribes and payoffs campaign contributions.
“Because a Republican Controlled Congress reduced the size of government”While a Democrat was in the White House. When a Republican President took office, that Republican led Congress increased the size of the government and the budget deficit.
“…..Had Saddam stayed in Iraq and not tried to take over Kuwait the world would be a different place today……”.Similarly if GW Bush had stayed in the U.S.
America did not have the support of the world who saw through the lies and thin evidence and were more in favour of letting the U.N. and Blix look for WMDs. Congress were fed lies and scare tactics and made the wrong decision. And do you really think 4,000 U.S. military killed, hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis killed and maimed, and a wrecked economy back home were worth the removal of one dictator, who was holding Iran at bay.

My healthcare plan will be canceled by Dec 31. But, no worries, I got a better one with lower premiums, thanks to the Affordable Care Act. :)
