I wonder why aunt Olga only sent me $10 for Christmas. She usually sends me $20. Still, I'll need to find something to spend it on. Why spend it when you can reap a financial bonanza by investing it in one of those plans I hear advertised on the radio? You were wondering why aunt Olga only sent $10 this year?

Maybe Aunt Olga never received a nice thank you card for last year’s gift. We quit sending money when the endorsement read “GRANDSON’S NAME” THANKS GUYS!

$10 gets me a harecut, and a $2 tip

Maybe Grandma tried to “reap a financial bonanza by investing it in one of those plans she heard advertised on the radio?”

I think the implication is that Aunt Olga invested in one of those plans.
