Interesting that having nuclear capability was fine, and encouraged, for the Shah. Wisest thing is still to let them have the commercial programs we’ve touted at home and for many countries, with restriction of weapon development.
All those “peaceful conservatives” of religious piety who think that as Jews will all convert to Christ or go to Hell when the “rapture” comes along, we’re supposed to kill off all the 1.5 billion+ Muslims before they can “rise up” against the other 5.5 billion people on the planet.

I recall Bush being Pro-Sanctions on Iran, and freezing their US-bank accounts!-Obama has done fancy embroidery on Iran’s longstanding national flag…..helping them evade sanctions and helping them ignore UN efforts to audit their nuke facilities…..plus offering them Billions of US money and expanding their international oil income.
