I don’t get it.

If we take the literal dialogue balloons and “muted” them, and inserted new dialogue/story cues, then we’d have: – Luann could be relieved because when Quill goes and says “excuse me” , he really means it, and she doesn’t have a large enough “tree” to counteract and freshen the air… – Quill is saying it, because he sees that Mrs. Berger fell asleep watching the special: “How Paint Dries”, during a PBS telethon, and she cant throw any cookies at alarming speeds at his head, so he literally dodged the bullet… – Nancy is saying it, because she was afraid that she’d lose in the deal that she and Frank made, about whether or not Luann got home on time…. And Nancy said she’d never want to go down that road and have to wear clown shoes and do the Macarena ever again!….

Kind of anti-climactic.I guess this means Luann made curfew, and Frank none-the-wiser.

It would still end with a squeak even it Luann had spent the evening naked in the middle of a lumber camp.

At least Luann & Quill weren’t wearing each other’s clothes. Just going to be in the wrong houses.

It seems that it could be interpreted by some that Qulll is at the wrong house… going by the three panels, I now see how that could seem that way….

My mom was similar….. not that my father or stepfather were pushovers, though… my parents were usually on top of things (heh heh!) and knew the tactics and language of kids/teens…. Dad usually disciplined “by appointment” … but mom was “on call” 24/7 so to speak…. they cultivated a culture of fun and openness, but with a lot of respect… – As far as the strip goes, I reference who was the one to protest when Quill came over for camp, during the “closed door incident” and when she announced that Quill made his return legal and official….. that was Frank….– And during those times Nancy was the one who was playing “good cop”, against Frank’s “bad cop”, and trying to be the “level headed one”….(though she also didn’t like the door being locked, either)…-And that could also be Frank’s surprised look of: “Oh! She’s home on time, now I can relax and go to bed!” (Though Frank sometimes has one look for all needs, Lol!)…

I doubt it.

I wonder if Quill has refrigerator privileges? An odd thing to obsess on, but I think he could use a Coke right now.

I sure it must have been mentioned before…in this strip, the girls are the ones who are constantly giving the boys the ‘go’ signal….the boys, gunther the extreme, are very hesitant about initiating any form of intimacy. The girls can’t seem to wait.

Quill’s shirt akimbo would indicate attaining a level of heavy petting 2.1. First hand anatomy lessons can cause lots of whooos.

I assume these are all sighs of relief that “nothing happened” and that everyone got home OK by the required curfew. However, the conventional sound effect for such circumstances is “Whew”, not “Whoo”. The latter reads rather like “Woops”. The distinction between “Whew” and “Woops” is critical, such as when a character is examining the results of a Home Pregnancy Kit.

The whooos from Luann & Quill is probably a mutual case of “the stones”. Something they have never experienced.
