Yeah, I do kind of wish a little more thought had been put into this. The song cited is about the tragedy that we live in a world that does not appreciate its best and brightest. I remember the three latter assassinations and how the world felt like it was going crazy. I certainly don’t begrudge Mr. Mandela either his long life or accolades for his ability to rise above an abominable system, but you could definitely say that he beat the odds of both his time and his place.
