Hmmm,,. I’m getting the impression that your press is running news of his death back to back, news report to news report. It is the same here. Frankly, I’m a a little astonished. Within an hour of the news of his death I anticipated in the Views Africa section a run of cartoons with him as the theme, but this has gone beyond my expectations.
I’m South African living in the UK and I’ve avoided the news channels myself. I accept his passing hasn’t touched you and I realise it is a little annoying for those who do not attach that much importance to him and that the coverage is so overwhelming and a tad over the top, but I ask for your patience and indulgence to bear with the rest of us.
Give him a nice funeral and move on after paying tribute to a man of vision and wisdom who ended apartheid with minimal violence and restored rights to his people and showed by example how different races can live in harmony.
Not going to happen, neither the first, nor the second.I stopped watching the news channels at around 1am my time the night his death was announced and as can be evidenced by my recent prolific posting, limiting my comments to this forum. ;-)(hey, omq R, limiting?
