The other MAD cartoonist you’re thinking of is Paul Coker Jr.

I approve of Tim’s choice of Scrooge. Alastair Sim is the best.Who are the first and last characters? Is the first one Mr. Potter?

Not counting Dr. Mel, who are numbers 2, 5, and 6?

No, Alpha, #6 is not Tim Rickard (or am I stepping on a joke I don’t recognize?)

Ah, “Red and Rover” gave me a clue. #5 (aka the Yeti) is Bumble, the Abominable Snowman from the 1964 TV special “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. So, #2 and 6 anyone?

I think it’s Mr. Potter, Prof. Hinkle, Scrooge, Dr. Mel, Grinch, Bumble (from Rudolph) and a communist.

The last guy on the right with the raccoon cap is none other than bully Scut Farcus, from “A Christmas Story.”

Ok, someone help me out, please…left to right…Mr Potter (It’s a Wonderful Life), Professor Hinkle (Frosty the Snowman), Scrooge (A Christmas Carol, though Albert Finney was the definitive Scrooge in the 1970’s movie musical by that name), Dr. Mel of course, The Grinch (RIP, Boris Karloff), The Abominable Snowman (Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer), and…? Who’s the mystery villain on the far right?

Thank you don57 , I came to comments today just cuz I couldn’t, get that last one. It kind of looks like Fred Astaire in one of those hats, or we were trying to figure out who in Dr Zhivago it could be. ffarcus’ red hair and freckles don’t come through very well here. I know Fred isn’t a villain, he was the postman in Santa Claus is comin to town. Hey, yeah, where is the Meisterburger?

I’ve always liked Alastair Sim’s Scrooge as the one that comes the closest any actor could to actually resembling the character.

To add to the “why didn’t they add this character in the strip” pile:
