No, it wouldn’t. An undercover policeman would be a fool to admit to the criminals the he was an officer of the law. Such an admission would likely be fatal.

I agree, anyone who sets out to steal identities deserve what they get. Could we also add to the list those who create computer viruses? Those in law enforcement who round up this scum have my respect, whoever they are, or purport to be.
