The GOP broke the filibuster by abusing it. It was a gentlemen’s agreement to use to block extreme cases, and it no longer works in a senate devoid of gentlemen.

Once again: It’s okay only if a Republican does it.

There is a difference between “use” of a tool, and egregious ABUSE of that tool, no matter how much damage you’re doing with it. The mechanics out there might recognize that Republicans since Obama was elected, and even before he was sworn into office, began using needle-nosed pliers as a torque wrench, to “tighten” the wheels of government, and the propeller on the “ship of state”.

In Kathleen Selibus’ case nothing. Her previous record is sufficent to allow her to a nominee / appointee to that position..That said, I would say she is very Progressive Leftist in her political views and that is a primary reason for her incompetence in handling Obamacare. She seems to be from the same sort of background as Janet Napolitano, another incompetent Progressive Leftist with a similar background. Of course, I am more familiar with Napolitano’s deficiencies in public service that Selibus’ as Napolitano was previously governor of my state.

Boy, there’s a knife that cuts both ways. The GOP was screaming “just vote — up or down” back then.

This is interesting. I wonder what kind of dirt Obama has on poor old Harry. There has to be some reason that Reid has become Obama’s personal slave.
