You didn’t ask. I thought (and still think) it was pure political shenanigans for her to do so. Keep in mind that one of the Kennedys (I can’t keep them straight) did the same thing earlier than she did. She wore a Yankees cap, and won the election. I fault New York voters far more; she blows with the political winds…it’s a different game. But voters should have some sense of responsibility.
In my home state, Mr. McAuliffe ran for (and won) the governorship. He was not really a Virginian, either. At least he had not served an elected office here, and that worked mightily against him. However, his opponent was so miserable that voters held their noses and voted for the lesser of the evils.
No such situation exists in Wyoming. Their current Senator is as conservative as the rest of the state, and had full backing of the Cheney family until Liz decided to get a lucrative job based on name recognition, and the knowledge that the money would continue to flow without having to do anything to earn it (which is why most politicians run for office).

And when Valerie Plame’s husband tried to convince the Bush administration about this lie, he was brushed off. As a result, he published his findings in the New York Times. As a result of THAT, Scooter Libby outed Valerie Plame, putting many of her colleagues currently in the field at risk, some of whose missions had to be scrubbed as a result. We can speculate as to whether Mr. Libby was “asked” to do someone else’s dirty work, but we can be sure that his sentence was commuted by his superiors. Truth.
