Maybe we’ll see what became of Hobbes. Think I could actually picture him smoking more than a 24 year old Calvin. Be real sad to see Calvin grew out of Hobbes and Hobbes became just another stuffed tiger again.

Didn’t like today’s strip, but thought the two linked items were awesome. The ‘movie’ preview is insanely good. And I already think of Frazz as a grown up Calvin anyway. I’ve yet to meet a person that’s like they were in 1st grade, so it’s silly to say that he was the same for 18 more years and never adapted.

You know, there are some ver good drawings of Calvin and Susie as grown ups in deviantart, if somebody wants to look for them.

Tack on the 10 years in circulation,and he’d be 34.

My favorite C&H ripoff (and I say this as a Christian) is the decal of Calvin kneeling in prayer at the cross. The folks in the car better pray God doesn’t consider copyright infringement sinful.

Calvin has lived a rough life if at 24 he’s mostly bald. I’m the same age and sill have my hair. Nerdom FTW!

Indeed. Life must be tough for Calvin, since he’s balding, smoking, and drinking in his 20s.

Maybe a good pouncing from Hobbes is just what he needs.

I’m all for creativity, but I honestly don’t like this AT ALL. I don’t like it when people try to alter or predict Calvin & Hobbes in the present or future. That is for Bill Watterson to say. He is the genius who created these unique characters and he was extremely protective of them & only he should say what happened to them. Especially in print. I truly believe Mr. Watterson would keep Calvin 6 years old then, now & always. Calvin didn’t age from 1985-1995 so I’m sure he’s still 6 to Bill and to his die-hard fans. We may wish he had written more adventures with C&H or licensed them..etc…but in actuality, the fact that Bill didn’t want any of that commercialism makes him who he is as a person and in turn is what makes Calvin & Hobbes who they are. I am looking at them right now as Bill drew them and I feel comforted and happy. When I look at these alterations of his characters I feel sick to my stomach and feel they are trying to use C&H to get more readers. Please leave Calvin & Hobbes alone and let them go sledding together down that hill of newly fallen snow…and into our hearts forever just as they were and still are today…Love you 4ever Calvin & Hobbes & Bill Watterson. Depending on what age we each discovered and became friends with Calvin & Hobbes, it can have powerful nostalgia. I know you would want someone to defend our boy and his tiger and his creator and I know you will defend them too. <3 you guys.
