Welcome to the 21st century, non-grandma. Not everything is about giving you grandkids anymore.

We might…very unlikely, though, be able to, but we both have a slew of health problems, especially me, and NOT from drugs, partying, or anything of the short. I’m pretty much depressed and broken up over the fact that I can’t / shouldn’t carry on the family line…and irked that my inlaws are apparently relieved.

@g55rumpy: Big business has made sure wisdom from anybody isn’t being passed down. Or reverence, or manners, or respect, or reasoning, etc. ad nauseam.

We have grandchildren(1 of each)but we would have liked at least two from each of our married daughters and I say ‘at least’ just as way of saying more than one.

For years my grandson, an only child, was thrilled to be the only grandchild. He wanted my undivided attention. Now that he’s grown up, and I am about to marry a women with two sons and four grandchildren ( 2 boys in one family and 1 girl and 1 boy in the other ), I asked him what he thought about my having other grandchildren to spoil. He replied “That’s cool ! Just don’t lose my address on my birthday and Christmas.”

If your parents didn’t have any kids, you probably won’t either.

I don’t believe that recreational drug use leads to sterilization. There are many children born to the hopelessly addicted as it is. There are many reasons for this problem – there are many children waiting for foster parents and adoptive parents – assuming that they can pass the stipulations.

@ypoons7666, the only problem I have with big gov’t. is what it allows big business to do.

Delusions of Grandma also happens to be the title of a book by Carrie Fisher.
