Mr. Geithner was another early disappointing action taken by Mr. Obama causing few of his supporters to come out in 2010. Few on the left thought he and the other professional wall streeter that was put in charge of protecting Americans from the excesses of the banks were appropriate choices. The fact that many banks have reverted to variations of the same practices that caused the 2008 crash is ample proof such skepticism was indeed warranted.While Mr. Geithner did work for a Dem administration for a time, I do not believe there is any evidence of his political affiliation. I believe Mr. Danziger is right to suggest Mr. G supports the “green” party, as in which ever party will make him wealthier.@ Eugene57 – Ms. Kemple’s sarcasm does not warrant an attack on her faith. If sarcasm warranted a lack of philosophical principle, then too many of us would be lacking in your eyes. She is right to point out that a person who worked for a Dem administration is showing his continuing loyalty to his class, and not his nation.Respectfully,C.
The revolving door between Wall Street, and Treasury/Federal Reserve, is just like the one between the Pentagon and the Military Industrial Complex corporations, and has been so through both Republican and Democratic administrations for a long, long time. Note how long Greenspan lasted, finally admitting in his own book that most of what he did at the Fed, was wrong!!
These “closed loop” barrels of poo aren’t singular to the U.S., as Britain has also proven. Maybe if our Congress could ever write legislation to correct? NOT bloody likely!
