Inmates at GITMO who suffered "enhanced interrogation" at the hands of the CIA during, the "extraordinary rendition" program have been told they can't sue over their torture. (The U.S. is a nation of laws. But GITMO isn't in the U.S.) The government argues that the "United States Government has absolute control of U.S. captives' CIA memories because where they were held and what was done to them. Ironically, the government did release some of the prisoners' "CIA Memories" to the makers of the macho military porn movie "Zero Dark Thirty," which used them to re-create the torture. (Woman: Wow- you really did all this? to people?) (Man 3: Cool, huh? So how many points you give us?) Torture the victims can't sue over. (Man 3: Be happy!) (Man 4: At least they're not giving away over torture memories for "exposure..."

We have to torture people so they won’t torture us… according to the tortured logic of the CIA.

Could be worse for them… They could be on the other side of the fence in a Cuban prison…

I’m old enough to remember when the US sent civilian aid agencies to foreign disaster zones. So are a lot of foreigners. Why do we militarize disaster relief? Because it’s an opportunity to take over a country while it’s weak. For example: Haiti. Thus: why some people are suspicious of US disaster relief, especially when it’s delivered by the military.

I’m not making excuses but rather just an observation. I can always be worse.

Actually, I recall Obama trying to close several years ago. It was in the news at the time that no state would accept the prisoners.

“I find it unsettling that most USA citizens lack the ability to think for themselves. That is they seem to lack critical thinking skills.” When I took Educational Psychology I read a statistic about critical thinking, the final stage (after concrete thinking) in cognitive development. It stated that about 60% of adults never advance past concrete thinking. My first reaction was that number seemed kind of low. That phenomenon is displayed here constantly.

“Macho Military Porn” Funny stuff. Sorry Ted, I really enjoyed that movie, then again I AM prior military though I never tortured anyone. Annoyed maybe, but never tortured.
